We close out the old year with 3 new festive cocktails!

We are closing out 2021 with three crackers of cocktails: Sidney, Coconut and Rhubarb Spritz and Sailors Spice. The latest additions to our assortment are the ideal cocktails to ring in the new year. That's why we like to serve them to you ice cold and with some extra information!

The Sidney, a classic with a twist

The first creation on the tray is a twist on the classic Hugo. A popular, sweet and summer aperitif. Our Craftails version, the Sidney, sets it apart by adding a subtle hint of tarragon, an herb beloved in French cuisine. It has a slight anise flavor that pairs perfectly with the elderflower and mint of the classic Hugo.

How do you prepare Craftail's Sidney?

  • You serve the Sidney nice and fresh. Therefore, place the cocktail in the refrigerator for at least an hour before serving.
  • Fill a glass about half full with ice. Of course, how much ice you use depends on the glass.
  • Pour 9 cl into the glass.
  • Top up with 7 cl of champagne.
  • Garnish with a sprig of mint and a violet.

Imagine yourself in summer spheres with the Coconut and Rhubarb Spritz

The second creation is reminiscent of summer temperatures and tropical islands. Tired of the cold and rainy days? Then the Coconut and Rhubarb Spritz is the ideal way to dream away.

As the name suggests, we combined rhubarb with coconut and mixed in lemon, sugar and a delicious champagne. The rhubarb provides a slightly earthy but very fresh touch while the coconut transports you to tropical realms. This glass of bubbly suits any season and is a great addition to a festive evening.

How to prepare the coconut and ruhbarb spritz?

  • This cocktail is best served cold! Therefore, place it in the refrigerator at least an hour before serving, or even briefly in the freezer.
  • For an extra luxurious look, you can coat the glass with some coconut powder.
  • Then pour 9 cl of cocktail and top up with 7 cl of champagne.
  • Ready to serve!

Spice things up with the Sailors Spice

And last but not least, we end with a spicy cocktail guaranteed to warm you up during winter. For our Sailors Spice, we found inspiration in a summer drink that Robert Abigail wrote a world hit about in 2008, the Mojito. Sailors Spice contains the DNA of a Mojito in a warm, winter jacket!

In fact, the rum is infused with a blend of five spices: cinnamon, cassia, cloves, anise and pimento. A hazelnut syrup is added to this for that typical nutty taste. Finally, we added ginger ale for some extra spice and a lime to give it a fresh touch.

How do our sailors prepare spice?

  • A spicy drink best served chilled. Therefore, place the cocktail in the refrigerator for at least an hour before use. Or 15 minutes in the freezer.
  • Fill a copper mug with ice.
  • Pour 13 cl.
  • Now add more ice until the mug is completely full.
  • Finish with ginger ale.
  • You can garnish with a straw, mint, a dried lime wedge and, to give the cocktail an extra spicy finish, a dried chili pepper.

Ingredients

  • Spived rum
  • Lime
  • Hazelnut
  • Chile
  • Five spice
  • Roasted almond
  • Ginger Beer
  • Optional: mint, dried lime wedge and a dried chili pepper
