This liquor is a popular choice among mixologists. Its sweet almond and vanilla flavors are the perfect base for a cocktail, making it the perfect addition to our selection.
DISARONNO FROM LA BELLA ITALIA
Disaronno is a world-renowned liqueur and a favorite among mixologists. Indeed, the sweet taste and aroma of this liquor offer a lot of mixing opportunities in different cocktails.
The legend of this drink dates back to the 16th century. The story, like many stories from Italy, takes place in the artistic scene. One of Picasso's pupils was given a painting assignment in a little church in Saronno. The Madonna who was the model for this wanted to thank him with a homemade drink. In comes the first version of amber liqueur.
A century later, Giovanni Reina discovered the recipe and made it his own family recipe. A few more centuries later and the Disaronno Originale was ready for the market. To market the drink, of course, they needed a fancy bottle. After a few initial versions, the famous Disaronno bottle as we know it today was designed in 1971. The hammered glass became a signature feature making the drink recognizable on store shelves worldwide. The unique bottle was even chosen to be part of an exhibition at the Louvre: "L'objet du Design, 99 objets pour un siècle."
By the way, did you know that Disaronno is not Amaretto? You see, Amaretto consists only of almonds. Disaronno contains both almond and apricot kernels.

The newest pre-made cocktail in the Craftails offering was created based on the delicious taste of the Disaronno liqueur. The sweetness of the almond and vanilla combined with the freshness and fruitiness of apple juice, lemon and malic acid create a delicious balance. This is one of those drinks where you close your eyes and dream away at the thought of a cozy table on a terrace in one of the charming Italian squares. - Apple orange juice
- Lemon juice
- Sugar
Preparation
This delicious cocktail is best kept chilled and served in 3 easy steps:
- Fill a Tumbler glass with ice.
- Pour 13cl into this and add ice again until the glass is completely full.
- Garnish with a straw, sprig of mint and a dried apple juice.
