8 necessary bar tools while preparing a cocktail

The supply of cocktail materials is greater than ever before. In this blog you could already read which tools are really indispensable when preparing a Craftails cocktail. But of course there are many more bar tools. The following 8 come in handy during preparation:

1. Knife

Would you like to cut the garnishes for cocktails yourself? A good knife is extremely important to work quickly and safely. Our preference is a 9cm "pairing knife," but feel free to use any knife you feel comfortable with!

2. Cutting board

The size does not matter much here. However, it is important that the cutting board is stable and does not slide away to avoid grim injuries.

3. Bar blade

The bar blade is a flat opener, hugely popular with bartenders because of its compactness. Do you prefer to work with a regular opener or sommelier? Keep at it!

4. Barmat

A bar mat is not a necessity, but it is immensely useful. The mats, usually made of silicone, are ideal for putting back just-rinsed materials such as a jigger. They are designed to allow the materials to drain without getting your bar wet. At the end of the shift, place them in the dishwasher with you and your bar will always stay tidy!

5. Pouring spout

A pouring spout, or also called a pouring spout, has two advantages in our opinion: you don't have to twist the cap on and off the bottle every time, AND you have a little more control over pouring. This choice is hugely personal, but we definitely recommend testing it out.

6. Ice cream scoop

When choosing an ice cream scoop, it is especially important that the size is neither too big nor too small and the scoop fits conveniently in the hand.

7. Ice bar

An ice tong comes in handy when you just need to add one or two ice cubes into the glass or to take ice cubes back out of the glass. It is highly recommended to have an ice tong nearby because it is hygienic.

8. Tweezers

Tweezers are one of the most useful bar tools when garnishing cocktails. It looks very professional and comes in handy for fragile garnishes such as florets. This way, your garnishes stay beautiful and you can present a beautiful cocktail.
